Greek mountain tea, also known as shepherd’s tea, is a naturally caffeine-free herbal tea, made from flowers, leaves and stems of the sideritis plant. Grown at high altitudes it is known since the antiquity as herbal treatment for a variety of ailments.
"Sideritis" can be literally translated as "he who is made of or has iron" and the plant was known to ancient Greeks as capable of healing wounds caused by iron weapons during battles.
With proven anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Greek mountain tea contains flavonoids, essential oils, and stands out for its exquisite taste and aroma.
Prepare your perfect cup. Add 1-2 tea spoonfuls to a cup of hot but not boiling water (150-200ml at 95°C). Wait for 5-7 minutes. Drain and enjoy. Add a drop of honey for a sweeter aftertaste.
